There is indeed money to be made by technology companies interested in developing climate-friendly, productivity-improving interventions in agriculture. Before the commercial value can be unlocked, however, there are many barriers to consider. Further, farming practices have been handed down through generations and the idea of using data to make modifications to such long-held beliefs and methods can be countercultural. Beyond that, in most parts of the world, seeds and fertilizer are not high-quality , lowering crop efficiency.

With all those obstacles, it is understandable that investments in data-driven agriculture dropped 39 percent from to There are groups still working, though. People who are already connected to your page are actually again this is just my personal opinion more likely to interact with and benefit from what you are advertising. Other than that, this book was definitely five star material, and in my opinion an absolute must read for anyone really interested in learning how to maximize their return on investment via Facebook.

Jun 05, Joana Botelho rated it really liked it Shelves: marketing-digital. Sep 17, Michael rated it really liked it. After reading this book, I implemented some of the strategies in two Facebook marketing campaigns and I am pleased. One thing that I got out of the book is its more than just doing something on FB, but what are you doing in your other activities emails, web pages, etc. No matter if you think it is a good or bad thing, the reality is if you are a business you need to have a FB presence.

This book isn't the end all to be all books about the topic, but there is an engaging writing style most people should be able to follow - you don't feel as if a techie is talking down to you or making it overly simplistic. Similar to other books like this one, if you have used the FB advertising platform before, some of this will be familiar to you but you will also learn a few new tips and tricks.

If you're looking for some new ideas, I'd recommend giving this one a try Had lots of advice and tools, hopefully, it will help me improve my social media skills. While this book had a huge focus on Facebook advertising I felt a bit like I was in a page sales pitch to use Facebook advertising , the book did have some fascinating statistics on Facebook, great advice on analytics and measurement, interesting comparisons of Facebook to email and Twitter, several general marketing pointers, and a lot of ideas and direction on content generation. And all of this stuff made the Facebook advertising selling parts of the book tolerable.

The bottom line: you can get as many fans as you want through advertising on Facebook, but they won't see your posts if you don't deliver engaging content from the first day they fan your page. And here is why: Most fans never return to a page after they like it. Many fans will never see your welcome tab. When fans create new posts on your Facebook page, other fans don't see them. If you don't get your fans to like and comment on your posts, they'll stop seeing them due to Facebook's EdgeRank system. I recommend picking up the book to learn more about how to use Facebook as a marketing tool, though I don't necessarily agree that Facebook advertising is the only way to drive fan "likes" to your business pages.
